A brand new aftermarket ignition stator built as a direct replacement for the original unit on the Kawasaki KLX 250 and KLX 300. It is plug-and-play and a direct fit, so it goes in against the original mounting points and connectors with no modification to the loom.
The assembly carries the alternator winding, the source coil and the pickup pulsar coil on one plate, measuring 93 mm across the outside with a 35 mm interior diameter and 18 mm thickness. Six wires run 130 mm from the stator to the grommet and a further 700 mm to two plugs carrying six pins, with the pickup coil lead running 60 mm to the grommet. The windings use the highest grade of copper, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius, on the highest grade of lamination materials. A connector and rubber grommet are included, and every unit is tested before it is shipped.

How can I tell my old stator has failed?
Common signs are a flat or under-charged battery, dim lighting and weak or absent spark. Check with a multimeter: the alternator winding between the yellow wires should read about 0.9 ohms, the source coil between red and black about 160 ohms, and the pickup between green/white and white about 250 ohms, each within 20 per cent. Readings far outside those values, or continuity from any winding to the core, indicate a failed stator.
Do I need to buy the pickup coil separately?
No. The pickup pulsar coil is supplied already mounted on the stator plate, so the ignition trigger and the charging winding are replaced together as one unit.
