Generator Stator for Kawasaki 454 LTD, EX500, Ninja 500 R, Vulcan 500 LTD and KLE 400 / 500
Kawasaki 454 LTD, ER500X, EX500, Ninja 400, Ninja 500 R, Vulcan 500 LTD, KLE 400 and KLE 500 - 1985-2009 - OEM replacement 21003-1267 and 21003-1123 - SKU RMS010-104205
This is a brand new aftermarket generator stator and a direct replacement for the original unit on the Kawasaki 454 LTD, ER500X, EX500, Ninja 400, Ninja 500 R, Vulcan 500 LTD, KLE 400 and KLE 500. It is wound with the highest grade of copper winding, rated to resist 200 degrees Celsius, and built on the highest grade of lamination materials, so it holds its output where the original tends to break down under sustained heat. Every unit is tested before it is shipped.
The stator arrives with its connector already fitted, and we also supply the opposite connector - the main harness side. On machines of this age that harness plug is very often melted, corroded or otherwise defective, and it is a major cause of repetitive electrical faults that keep coming back after a stator has been changed. Replacing both halves at once removes that cause. Please note that this kit does not include a grommet: you must re-install your original grommet when you fit the new stator.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this stator need any modification to fit?
No. It is a direct replacement for the original unit and the connector is already fitted, so no cutting or splicing is needed. The one thing to be aware of is the grommet - this stator does not come with one, so your original grommet must be re-installed.
What is included in the box?
The generator stator with its connector fitted, plus the opposite connector for the main harness side so both halves of the plug can be renewed at the same time.
How do I tell whether my old stator has failed?
With the engine off and the plug disconnected, measure resistance between each pair of the three yellow alternator wires. A healthy unit reads approximately 0.06 ohms +/- 20% between each pair. An open circuit reading, a badly out of tolerance reading, or continuity from any yellow wire to earth points to a failed stator.
Why is a spare harness connector supplied?
Because on these models the main harness side of the plug is frequently found melted, corroded or defective, and a damaged plug will keep causing charging faults even with a brand new stator fitted. Renewing that connector at the same time is what stops the fault returning.
