Does it fit without modification?
Yes. The stator is a direct replacement for the original unit on the Ninja ZX-6R, so it mounts in the standard position and plugs into the standard three-pin connector. No cutting or splicing of the wiring loom is required.
What is included?

How do I know my old stator has failed?
A battery that will not stay charged, a charging warning on the dash, or lights that dim as the revs drop all point to the charging circuit. With the engine off and the plug disconnected, measure between each pair of the three black alternator wires: the reading should be 0.4 ohms +/- 20%. An open circuit, a short between phases, or continuity from any wire to the stator body means the winding has failed and the unit needs replacing.
Should I check the regulator rectifier as well?
It is worth doing. A failing regulator rectifier can overheat and take the stator with it, so if the stator has burnt out it is sensible to confirm the regulator is holding the correct charging voltage before the new part is fitted, and to check that the connector between the two is clean and undamaged.
