This is a brand new aftermarket Kokusan stator for the Aprilia RSV4 and Tuono V4, designed specifically to address the charging system failures these models are known for. The problem on the original setup is heat: the OEM stator runs hot enough to cook its own insulation, and a like-for-like replacement simply repeats the failure a season or two later.
RMSTATOR tackle this at the source. The unit is built with lower strength magnets, which drops the stator output and, with it, the heat the stator generates. The result is a charging system that runs cooler and survives, rather than one that produces more current than the bike needs while destroying itself doing so. How do I confirm my stator has failed?
With the engine off and the plug disconnected, measure between the Yellow wires - this unit reads 0.3 ohms +/-20% between each pair. An open circuit reading, a near-zero reading, or continuity between any wire and the engine case indicates a failed winding. Discoloured or blackened windings on the removed unit confirm heat damage.
