This is a brand new aftermarket stator for the Suzuki RM 125 and RM 250 two-stroke motocross machines built between 1996 and 2006. It is a direct fit in the original position behind the flywheel and carries both the source winding that feeds the ignition and the lighting winding, on a core built from the highest grade of lamination material.
The unit is supplied with four wires terminated in connector terminals. The original connector and grommet are reinstalled on the new stator, after which it becomes a plug-and-play unit, a direct fit and very easy to install. The windings use the highest grade of copper, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius, which is what a competition two-stroke asks of a stator sitting directly against a hot crankcase. Every unit is tested before it is shipped.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this stator need the bike to be modified?
No. It is a direct fit in the original position. The only preparation is moving the original connector and grommet across from the old stator onto the new one, after which it is plug-and-play.
What is included in the box?
The stator with four wires already terminated in connector terminals. The connector body and the grommet are reused from your original unit, so keep them when you remove it.
How do I tell whether my old stator has failed?
Measure the windings with a multimeter and compare them against the table above. Source 1 should read about 28 ohms between the red and white wires and source 2 about 1.2 ohms between the two yellow wires, both within 20 per cent. An open circuit, a dead short, or continuity between a winding and the stator plate all point to a failed unit. A bike that runs but will not rev out, or that dies when hot, often has a source coil that has gone high in resistance.
Does one stator really cover both the RM 125 and the RM 250?
Yes. Suzuki used the same stator specification across the RM 125 and RM 250 for these model years, which is why the OEM numbers in the cross reference table span both machines. Check the number on your original unit before ordering.
