This is a brand new aftermarket stator covering the 2008-2017 Victory range, including the Cross Country, Hammer, Highball, Jackpot, Kingpin, Magnum, Vegas and Vision. It is a direct replacement for the original unit and fits plug-and-play, so the standard loom connects to it as it did to the original and no cutting, splicing or machining is required.
The stator is built with the highest grade lamination materials and the highest grade copper windings, rated to resist 200 degrees Celsius. On a large air-cooled v-twin the stator lives in a hot environment for its whole service life, and the temperature rating of the winding insulation is the single specification that most determines how long it lasts. How do I tell whether my stator has failed?
With the engine off and the plug disconnected, measure between the Black wires - this unit reads 0.3 ohms +/-20% between each pair. Open circuit, near-zero, or continuity from any wire to the engine case all indicate a failed winding. A battery that keeps going flat on a bike that otherwise runs is the usual first sign.
