This is a brand new aftermarket stator for the Yamaha AR and LX 210, the Exciter 135 and 270, the LS 2000 and the XL, GP and SUV 1200 range built between 1997 and 2005. It is a direct replacement for the original unit and carries both the alternator winding that keeps the battery charged and the two ignition source coils, so one part restores the charging and the ignition supply together.

How can I tell my old stator has failed?
A failed charging winding shows up as a battery that will not hold charge and gauges that fade under load. A failed source coil shows up as no spark or a spark that dies once the engine warms. Check green to green for about 1.0 ohms, black to blue for about 757 ohms and black to red for about 183 ohms, all within 20 per cent. Any open circuit, or continuity from a winding to the stator body, means the unit has failed.
Why does this stator have two source coils?
On this Yamaha design the ignition is fed by two separate source windings with different resistances - 757 ohms on the black to blue pair and 183 ohms on the black to red pair - alongside the green alternator winding that charges the battery. All three are carried on the same plate, which is why one part number covers both the charging and the ignition supply.
