This is a brand new aftermarket generator stator and a direct replacement for the original unit on the Yamaha FZ1 1000, FZS 1000 Fazer and FZ-1. It is plug-and-play, a direct fit and easy to install, with the connector and rubber grommet already supplied so the job is a straight swap behind the crankcase cover.
The windings use the highest grade copper, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius, on the highest grade lamination materials. Heat is what kills a stator on this generation of big Yamaha four cylinder: the insulation on the original windings degrades, the phases begin to short to each other or to the case, and the result is a battery that drains on every ride and a charging voltage that never climbs above resting battery voltage. A correctly wound replacement restores full three phase output. All products shipped are tested.

Does this stator need any modification to fit?
No. It is a direct replacement for the original unit, plug-and-play and a direct fit. The connector and rubber grommet are supplied already fitted, so the loom does not need to be cut or spliced.
What is included in the box?
The generator stator with its connector and rubber grommet. Every unit is tested before it is shipped.
How do I tell whether my old stator has failed?
With the engine off and the plug disconnected, measure resistance between each pair of the three white wires. A healthy unit reads approximately 0.6 ohms +/- 20% between each pair. Any open circuit reading, a reading well outside that tolerance, or continuity from a white wire to earth means the stator has failed.
Will this fit the later 2006 onwards FZ1?
No. This unit covers the 2001-2005 FZ1 1000, FZS 1000 Fazer and FZ-1 and cross references to OEM 5LV-81410-00-00. The later generation uses a different stator, so check the number on your original unit before ordering.
