Stator for Yamaha Sidewinder 1000 EFI L/C
Yamaha Sidewinder 1000 EFI L/C 2017-2020 - OEM replacement 8KJ-81410-00-00 - Part RMS010-105040
This is a brand new aftermarket stator for the Yamaha Sidewinder 1000 EFI liquid-cooled snowmobile, supplied complete with the pickup pulsar coil. The stator generates the alternating current the regulator-rectifier converts into charging voltage, while the pickup coil provides the timing signal the fuel injection and ignition need. On a turbocharged, fuel-injected sled the electrical load is high and constant - fuel pump, injectors, electric start, hand and thumb warmers, gauges - so a stator that has lost a phase leaves the machine flattening its battery on every run and eventually stranding it.
The unit is an 18-pole, plug-and-play direct fit replacement built to the original dimensions: 115 mm outside diameter, 42 mm bore and a 34 mm stack, with five wires through two plugs and generous 850 mm leads from the grommet to the plug, so it routes exactly as the factory harness does with no cutting or splicing. It uses the highest grade of lamination materials and the highest grade of copper winding, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius. Connectors and the rubber grommet are included, and all products are tested before they are shipped.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does fitting this need any modification?
No. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit replacement. The stack dimensions, the 18-pole layout, the five wires and the two plugs match the original, and the lead lengths follow the factory routing, so nothing needs cutting or splicing.
What is included in the box?
The stator assembly with its connectors, the pickup pulsar coil and the rubber grommet.
How do I confirm the old stator has failed?
Disconnect the plugs and measure between each pair of white wires - all three readings should be close to 0.4 ohms and within about 20 per cent of one another, with no continuity from any white wire to the engine casing. Then measure the pickup coil between black and grey, which should read about 500 ohms. Readings that are open, badly unbalanced, or shorted to earth mean the unit has failed.
Why does a snowmobile stator need a 200 degree rating?
The stator sits inside the engine where oil temperature and the heat soak after shutdown are far higher than the ambient air the sled runs in. Copper windings rated to 200 degrees Celsius keep their insulation intact through those cycles, which is what protects the winding from the inter-turn shorts that end a stator's life.
