This is a brand new aftermarket replacement stator for the Yamaha XVS V Star Tourer 1300, covering the 2007, 2008 and 2009 model years. It is a direct replacement for the original unit, so it fits the same mounting position, uses the same factory plugs and needs no modification to the wiring loom, the engine cases or the charging circuit. Fitting is plug-and-play: the old stator comes out, this one goes in, and the standard bolts and grommet route the harness exactly as before.
The assembly is supplied complete with the pick-up pulsar coil already mounted, along with the connector and the rubber grommet, so the charging output and the ignition trigger are both renewed in a single job rather than being replaced piece by piece at different times. The core uses the highest grade lamination materials and the windings use the highest grade copper, rated to resist 200 degrees Celsius, which is what keeps output stable once the engine and the oil around the stator reach full working temperature. Does this stator fit without modification?
Yes. It is a direct replacement for the original unit on the listed models and years. The mounting holes, the wire routing and the connectors match the factory parts, so no cutting, splicing or adapter loom is needed.
What is included in the box?
The stator itself, the pick-up pulsar coil, the connector and the rubber grommet. There are five wires terminating in two plugs with five pins in total.
How can I tell my old stator has failed?
Typical signs are a battery that will not hold charge, dimming lights at idle, or an engine that cuts out or will not start. With a multimeter, the alternator windings should read about 0.4 ohms White to White and the pick-up should read about 287 ohms Dark Grey to Light Grey, both within plus or minus 20 per cent. A reading that is open circuit, near zero, or that shows continuity to the engine case points to a failed stator.
Do I need to buy the pick-up pulsar coil separately?
No. The pick-up pulsar coil is supplied already fitted to this assembly, along with its own plug, so the ignition trigger is renewed at the same time as the charging windings.
