This is a brand new aftermarket stator, part number RM01519, built as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to the Yamaha WaveRunner GP 800, GP 800R, XL 800 and XLT 800 from 1998 to 2005. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit assembly: the mounting holes, the grommet position and all six plugs match the original, so the loom is reconnected exactly as it came apart and nothing needs cutting, splicing or drilling.
This is one of the more complex stators in the WaveRunner range. It carries eleven wires across six separate plugs and combines the alternator windings, the pickup coil and a dedicated source coil in a single assembly, which is why all three resistance figures below matter when you are diagnosing a fault. The unit is built on the highest grade lamination stack and wound with the highest grade copper, with insulation rated to 200 degrees Celsius so it copes with the heat that builds inside a sealed magneto cover. The pickup pulsar coil, the connector and the rubber grommet are all included, and every unit is tested before it ships.

What is included?

How do I know my old stator has failed?
Test it cold with a multimeter against the three figures in the table. The alternator legs should read about 1.2 ohms white to white, the pickup about 524 ohms white/black to white/red, and the source coil about 344 ohms blue to brown, each within 20%. A reading that is open circuit, far out of range, or that shows continuity to the stator core indicates a failed winding. Common symptoms are a flat battery, no spark on one cylinder, or an engine that will not fire at all when the source coil has gone.
Why does this stator have so many wires?
Because it does three jobs at once. Eleven wires across six plugs carry the alternator output that charges the battery, the pickup signal that tells the ignition when to fire, and the source coil output that powers the ignition system itself. That is normal for the WaveRunner 800 series and it is why the full unit has to be replaced rather than just one coil.
