This is a brand new aftermarket stator, built as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to the Yamaha YFB 250 Timberwolf in 1992 and 1993. It is a three-circuit plate: the alternator windings generate the charging current that goes to the regulator rectifier and the battery, a separate source winding feeds the ignition, and the pickup pulsar coil reads the flywheel and sets the timing. On machines this old the original windings have usually spent three decades absorbing heat and vibration, and the insulation eventually breaks down.
The unit is plug-and-play and a direct fit - six wires into three plugs, matching the factory connectors, wire lengths and mounting holes, so there is no cutting, splicing or modification to do. It is wound with the highest grade copper, rated to withstand 200 degrees C, on a highest grade lamination stack. The pickup pulsar coil, the connector and the rubber harness grommet are all supplied with it, and every stator is tested before it is packed and despatched.

How do I know my old stator has failed?
A flat battery that keeps coming back, lights that do not brighten with revs, weak or absent spark, or a machine that dies once warm are the common signs. Check with a multimeter: about 0.4 ohms +/- 20% Yellow to White on the alternator, about 275 ohms +/- 20% Green/White to Blue/Yellow on the pickup, and about 475 ohms +/- 20% Black to Brown on the source coil. An open circuit or continuity to the plate means that winding has failed.
Why does this stator have three plugs?
Because the Timberwolf runs three separate circuits from the one plate - charging, ignition source and pickup - each with its own connector. All three are supplied on this assembly, so the whole plate goes in as one piece.
