This is a brand new stator for the Yamaha YFB 250 Timberwolf and the YFM 250 Bear Tracker built between 1994 and 2000, supplied as RMSTATOR part RM01298. It is a direct replacement for your original unit and fits the factory mounting points, so installation is plug-and-play with no cutting or splicing.
The assembly carries seven wires across two plugs: the alternator winding, the pick-up pulsar coil and the source coil, all wound with the highest grade copper on the highest grade lamination materials and rated to resist 200 degrees Celsius. The pick-up pulsar coil, the connector and the rubber grommet are included, and so is the opposite connector for the main harness side, because on machines of this age that half of the joint is very often melted, corroded or already broken.

How can I tell my old stator has failed?
Test it cold with a multimeter. Expect 0.4 ohms plus or minus 20% yellow to yellow on the alternator winding, 200 ohms plus or minus 20% green to blue on the pick-up, and 320 ohms plus or minus 20% red to white on the source coil. The yellow wires should show an open circuit to ground; continuity there means a winding has shorted to the core.
Why is a second connector supplied?
The opposite connector, the main harness half of the joint, is included because on these machines it is often melted, corroded or defective by the time the stator is replaced, and a poor joint there will damage the new unit.
