This is a brand new generator stator for the Yamaha YFM 550 Grizzly, YFM 700 Grizzly and YFM 700 Kodiak. It is a direct replacement for the original unit and fits plug and play, so nothing needs rewiring or modifying. The stator is what charges the battery and feeds the ignition, and on a hard-working utility quad carrying a winch and lights it is one of the parts most likely to cook itself over time.
The windings are the highest grade of copper, rated to resist 200 degrees Celsius, wound on the highest grade of lamination material. The unit is 106 mm across the outside, 45 mm inside and 27 mm thick, with five wires, two plugs and five pins. The pick-up pulsar coil, the connector and the rubber grommet are all supplied fitted. Alternator resistance reads 0.4 ohms plus or minus 20 per cent between windings and the pick-up reads 500 ohms plus or minus 20 per cent from white to grey, so your original can be tested before you order. Every unit is tested before it is shipped.

Will this fit without modification?
Yes. It is a plug and play direct replacement for the original stator on the models and years listed, using the original mounting and the original connectors. Check the number on your existing unit against the cross reference table before ordering.
What is included?
You receive the stator with the pick-up pulsar coil, the connector and the rubber grommet already fitted. The flywheel, the cover gasket and the regulator rectifier are not included.
How do I know my stator has failed?
Measure resistance between the alternator windings - each pair should read 0.4 ohms plus or minus 20 per cent, with no continuity to earth. The pick-up should read 500 ohms plus or minus 20 per cent from white to grey. A battery that goes flat on every ride, a charging voltage that stays at battery level with the engine running, or an open circuit on any winding all point to a failed stator.
Does the same stator cover the Grizzly and the Kodiak?
Yes, within the years shown. The YFM 550 Grizzly is covered from 2009 to 2014, the YFM 700 Grizzly from 2007 to 2026 and the YFM 700 Kodiak from 2019 to 2026. All three use the same 106 mm unit and the same OEM part numbers.
