This is a brand new replacement stator for the Yamaha YFM 600 Grizzly 4x4 built between 1999 and 2001. It is a direct replacement for your original unit, so it mounts in the same position, follows the same wire routing and meets the existing harness plugs. Fitting is plug-and-play, with no modification, no rewiring and no drilling required.
The assembly is built on the highest grade lamination materials and wound with the highest grade copper windings, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius, which is what allows it to survive the heat soak of a hard working utility quad. It carries seven wires across two plugs and combines the charging winding with the pick-up pulsar coil and the source coil. The pick-up pulsar coil, the connector and the rubber grommet are supplied with the unit, along with the opposite connector for the main harness side, which is often melted or corroded by the time a stator is being replaced.

Will this stator fit without modification?
Yes. It is a direct replacement for the original Yamaha unit on the 1999 to 2001 YFM 600 Grizzly 4x4, using the same mounting, the same seven wire layout and the same two plugs. Nothing needs to be cut, drilled or re-wired. Please confirm the OEM part number on your original stator against the cross reference table before ordering.
What is included in the box?

How can I tell that my old stator has failed?
Watch for a battery that will not stay charged, dim or flickering lights, a machine that runs only until the battery is drained, or no spark at all. With the engine off and the unit unplugged, the white alternator wires should read about 0.4 ohms between them, the pick-up about 440 ohms from white to red, and the source coil about 320 ohms from brown to green. Any reading well outside those figures, or continuity from a winding to the stator body, points to a failed stator.
Why is the opposite connector supplied as well?
On a Grizzly that has run with a failing charging circuit, the harness side of the plug is often heat damaged or corroded, and refitting a new stator into a damaged connector simply repeats the fault. Supplying the matching harness side half means the whole joint can be renewed at the same time.
