Stator for Yamaha YFM 80 Badger 1992-1994 & YFM 100 Champ 1989-1991
Direct-fit replacement charging stator - part RMS010-104947 - supplied with pickup pulsar coil
The stator is the stationary winding assembly mounted behind the flywheel. As the magnets in the flywheel sweep past it, the stator generates the alternating current that keeps the battery charged and, on these small Yamaha machines, also feeds the ignition system through its source coil and pickup pulsar coil. When a winding shorts, goes open circuit or breaks down to earth, the symptoms range from a battery that will not hold charge to a spark that fades away as the engine warms up.
This is a brand new aftermarket assembly built as a direct replacement for the factory unit. It uses high-grade laminations and copper winding with insulation rated to 200 degrees Celsius, and it arrives complete with the pickup pulsar coil, connector, rubber grommet and back plate already fitted. Every unit is tested before it is shipped. Fitment is plug-and-play: the original harness plugs straight in, so there is no cutting, splicing or re-pinning to do.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this fit without modification?
Yes. It is a plug-and-play direct fit for the machines and years listed above. The mounting pattern and the connectors match the factory unit, so the original harness plugs straight in with no cutting or splicing.
What is included in the box?
A brand new aftermarket stator with the pickup pulsar coil, connector, rubber grommet and back plate. Gaskets, seals and the flywheel are not included.
How can I tell my old stator has failed?
Typical symptoms are a battery that keeps going flat, lights that dim or flicker with engine speed, and a weak or missing spark. Check it with a multimeter against the figures in the specification table: the alternator winding should read about 0.7 ohms, the pickup about 339 ohms and the source coil about 401 ohms, each within 20%. An open-circuit reading, or continuity between any winding and the stator body, confirms a failed unit.
Why do the Badger and the Champ have different year ranges?
The two models used this stator in different production periods: the YFM 80 Badger from 1992 to 1994 and the YFM 100 Champ from 1989 to 1991. Earlier Badgers use a different unit, so check the OEM number stamped on your original part before ordering.
