This is a brand new aftermarket stator, a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to the Yamaha YZF R1 1000 and the closely related FZ10 and MT-10 models. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit part: the 15-pole core, the twin plugs and the wire lengths all match the factory item, so it installs into the generator cover without modification to the loom.
The winding is the highest grade of copper, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius, laid over the highest grade of lamination material. The pick-up pulsar coil, connectors and rubber grommet are supplied with the stator, and every unit is tested before it is shipped.

How do I know my old stator has failed?
Watch for a battery that will not hold charge, warning lights or a dashboard that dims at idle, or an engine that dies once the battery is flat. To confirm, measure the windings: the alternator legs should read about 0.4 ohms White to White and the source circuit about 208 ohms Grey to Black, both within plus or minus 20 percent. A reading of open circuit, or continuity between any winding and the stator core, means the unit has failed.
