This is a brand new generator stator, built as a direct replacement for the original charging unit fitted to the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10 R (ZX10R) from 2008 to 2010. It is plug-and-play and a direct fit, so it mounts in the original position and connects to the existing loom without cutting, splicing or any modification to the bike.
The stator is built from the highest grade materials and wound with copper windings resistant to 200 degrees Celsius. Heat is what kills an original stator - the windings sit in hot oil right behind the engine case cover, and once the insulation breaks down the charging output goes with it. The connector and the rubber grommet are both included with the part. The unit measures 106 mm on the exterior diameter with a 41 mm interior diameter and a 14 mm thickness, and runs three wires into a single three-pin plug, 100 mm from the stator to the grommet and a further 400 mm from the grommet to the plug.

How do I tell whether my old stator has failed?
The usual signs are a battery that will not hold its charge, dim or flickering lights and a machine that eventually will not restart. Confirm it with a resistance test - measure between each of the three white wires and compare against the 0.4 ohms +/-20% figure in the specification table. A reading well outside that tolerance, an open circuit, or continuity between any white wire and the stator body all indicate a failed winding.
Do I need to reuse my original grommet?
No. A rubber grommet is supplied with this stator along with the connector, so the wiring can be sealed at the case exit exactly as it was originally.
