A brand new lighting coil for the Yamaha YFS 200 Blaster, supplied so that you can repair the stator you already have rather than replace the whole assembly. The lighting coil is the winding that produces the alternating current for the headlight, tail light and any accessory load, entirely separate from the ignition source coil that feeds the CDI. That separation is why a Blaster can run perfectly well while its lights stay dead, or flicker and dim as the revs rise.
This coil is wound from the highest grade copper on the highest grade lamination materials, and the windings are rated to withstand 200 degrees Celsius. How do I know my lighting coil has failed?
The tell-tale sign is an engine that starts and runs normally while the lights do not, since the ignition runs from a separate winding. Dim or flickering lights that do not brighten with revs, lights that work cold and die once the engine is hot, or a complete absence of AC output at the lighting wire all point to the lighting coil. Check the bulbs, earths and the regulator first, because those are cheaper faults with the same symptoms.
Does replacing this coil affect the ignition?
