This is a brand new stator for the Arctic Cat EXT 600, Powder 600, ZL 440, ZL 500, ZL 600 and ZRT 600 built between 1995 and 2000. It is a direct replacement for the original unit - plug-and-play, direct fit and easy to install, so it mounts in the original position and connects to the existing loom without cutting, splicing or modification.
The unit is built on the highest grade lamination materials and wound with the highest grade copper windings, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius. That heat resistance is what an original stator loses after years of service, and it is usually the source coils rather than the alternator windings that go first on these sleds. A connector is included with the part, and all product shipped is tested before it is dispatched. The stator measures 115 mm on the exterior diameter with a 51 mm interior diameter and a 15 mm thickness, and runs eight wires into two plugs across nine pins on a 250 mm lead.

How do I tell whether my old stator has failed?
The usual signs are a battery that will not hold its charge, dim or flickering lights, a weak or absent spark and an engine that cuts out. Confirm it with a meter against the specification table - a reading well outside the stated tolerance, an open circuit, or continuity between a winding and the stator body all indicate a failure.
What resistance readings should this unit give?
The alternator winding reads approximately 0.4 ohms +/-20% from Yellow to Yellow/Red. The source coil reads approximately 450 ohms +/-20% from Green to White, and the second source coil approximately 45 ohms +/-20% from Black/Red to Green.
