Ignition Stator with Pickup Coil for Honda CRF50F, XR50R, Z50R and XR70R
Honda CRF50F, XR50R, Z50R and XR70R 1988-2026 - OEM 31120-GW8-671 and 31120-GW8-672
This is a brand new aftermarket ignition stator for the Honda minibike family, supplied as a direct replacement to your original unit and covering the CRF50F, XR50R, Z50R and XR70R. It is plug-and-play, a direct fit and easy to install, sitting behind the flywheel in the standard position and connecting through the original two plugs, so the loom needs no cutting, splicing or rerouting. The pick up pulsar coil is supplied fitted to the plate, which means the source winding and the ignition trigger are both renewed together rather than moving an old trigger coil across.
Construction uses the highest grade of lamination materials and the highest grade of copper windings, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius. These little Hondas lead hard lives and the original stator plate is a common casualty of years of vibration, heat and the occasional flooded engine, so the windings and the insulation are where this unit is built to do better. A connector and a rubber grommet are included, and every product shipped is tested. The part reference is RMS010-101530.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this fit without modification?
Yes. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit replacement that uses the original mounting and the two original plugs, so no cutting or splicing is needed. This plate covers a very long production span across four models, so check the OEM number on the unit you are removing against 31120-GW8-671 or 31120-GW8-672 before ordering.
What is included in the box?
The stator plate with the pickup pulsar coil already fitted, a connector and a rubber grommet. The flywheel and the retaining bolts from your machine are reused.
How do I tell if my old stator has failed?
With the flywheel cover off, measure the pickup between the blue/yellow wire and the bracket, which should read 120 ohms plus or minus 20 per cent, and the source winding between the black/red wire and ground, which should read 715 ohms plus or minus 20 per cent. Readings well outside those figures, or an open circuit on either winding, confirm the plate has failed. No spark at all, or a spark that dies as soon as the engine warms up, is the usual symptom.
Does this stator charge a battery?
This is an ignition stator: it carries the source winding that feeds the ignition and the pickup coil that triggers it. The published specification lists source and pickup resistances only, so check the wiring on your own machine before assuming it will run a lighting or charging circuit.
