Pickup Coil 236 Ohms for Kawasaki KFX 450 R, Polaris 500 600 RMK and Suzuki V-Strom 650
Kawasaki, Polaris and Suzuki models 1999-2016 - RMSTATOR reference RM00158
A brand new pick-up coil, also called a pulsar coil, rated at 236 ohms and supplied as a direct replacement for the pickup coil fitted to your original stator assembly. This is the small trigger coil that tells the ignition when to fire, and it is one of the most common failure points on an ageing charging and ignition system. It is frequently unavailable on its own from the vehicle manufacturer, which normally forces owners to buy a complete stator assembly to cure a fault in a single component.
Offering the coil separately means an otherwise healthy stator can simply be repaired. The unit is supplied with 940 mm of wire and a bracket measuring 35 mm centre to centre, and every coil is electrically tested before it leaves the warehouse. The photographs on this listing show the actual part - if you are in any doubt, compare the bracket spacing, the wire colours and the wire length against your original component before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this coil fit without modification?
Yes. It is built as a direct replacement for the original pickup coil, using the same 35 mm bracket centres and the same two-wire White and Blue/Yellow output. No cutting or drilling is required. Before ordering, check the part number stamped on your original unit against the cross reference table above.
What is included?
The pick-up coil itself, complete with 940 mm of lead wire. The stator windings, the flywheel and the vehicle wiring loom are not included - this component is intended to repair an existing stator assembly rather than replace it.
How do I know my pickup coil has failed?
A failing pickup coil typically shows up as no spark at all, an intermittent spark, or an engine that starts from cold but cuts out once it is hot. Measure the resistance across the White and Blue/Yellow wires with a multimeter: a healthy coil reads approximately 236 ohms, within a tolerance of plus or minus 20 per cent. An open circuit, a short to earth, or a reading well outside that band points to a failed coil.
Can I fit this if the rest of my stator is still good?
That is exactly what this part is for. If the alternator windings still test within specification and only the trigger circuit has failed, fitting a new pickup coil is the cheaper and quicker repair. Test the charging windings first so you are confident the rest of the assembly is sound.
