Will this coil fit without modification?
It is a direct replacement for the original pickup coil on the listed Ski-Doo and Lynx models from 1999 to 2020. The bracket holes are 35 mm centre to centre and the 400 mm lead carries four wires into a single four pin plug. Because Ski-Doo used both two wire and four wire pickups across this period, confirm your machine has the four wire type before ordering.
What is included?

How do I know the old pickup coil has failed?
Typical symptoms are no spark, an intermittent misfire, or an engine that cranks but will not fire. Test both windings with a multimeter: blue/yellow to yellow/white should read about 300 ohms, and green to grey about 300 ohms, each within 20 per cent. One winding open circuit while the other reads correctly is a classic partial failure and still means the coil needs replacing.
Why does this coil have four wires?
It carries two separate 300 ohm windings rather than one, feeding the ignition system through a single four pin plug. That is why both pairs need to be tested when diagnosing a fault - a machine can run poorly rather than not at all if only one winding has gone down.
