This is a brand new pick-up pulsar coil for repairing the stator on the Suzuki DR, LT Quadsport and SP models built through the 1980s. The pulsar coil is the trigger that tells the ignition where the flywheel is, and after thirty or more years of heat and vibration it is one of the first parts on these machines to go open circuit. The result is an engine that cranks over healthily but never produces a spark.
The coil measures 26 mm long, 21 mm wide and 18 mm high, with 35 mm between the bracket centres and a 750 mm lead ending in a two-pin connector. Resistance measured from the green and white wire to the black wire is 100 ohms plus or minus 20 per cent, so your original can be checked with a multimeter before you order. Suzuki no longer supplies this coil separately for most of these models, so being able to replace just the coil saves buying a whole stator. Every unit is tested before it is shipped.

What is included?

How do I know my pulsar coil has failed?
Measure the resistance from the green and white wire to the black wire with a multimeter. A healthy coil reads 100 ohms plus or minus 20 per cent. An open circuit, a short to earth, or a reading well outside that band confirms the coil has failed. The usual symptom is strong cranking with no spark at the plug.
Does it fit both the road and off-road models?
The same coil covers the DR trail models, the SP dual sport models and the LT 230 S and LT 250 S Quadsport quads within the years shown. The physical mounting and the 100 ohm winding are common to all of them, but confirm the OEM number on your own unit first.
