A brand new pick-up pulser coil for the Yamaha YFS 200 Blaster and YSR 50, supplied so that you can repair the stator you already have instead of replacing the whole assembly. The pulser coil is the ignition trigger. As the flywheel spins, a raised reluctor on its rim sweeps past the coil and induces a small voltage pulse, and the CDI reads the timing of that pulse to decide the exact moment to fire the plug. Without a clean pulse the engine will crank strongly and never fire, no matter how good the plug, the HT coil and the battery are.
These coils fail in predictable ways on an air-cooled two-stroke: the fine winding goes open circuit after years of heat cycling, the potting cracks and admits water, or the lead chafes through where it leaves the stator plate. This replacement is built to the original dimensions of 28 mm long by 15 mm wide by 23 mm high, so it seats on the standard stator plate in the standard position and lets you set the air gap in the usual way. It is often unavailable from the original manufacturer, and every coil we ship has been tested before dispatch.

Will it fit without modifying the machine?
Yes. At 28 x 15 x 23 mm it matches the original coil, so it mounts on the standard stator plate in the standard position. It is a repair coil rather than a plug-in assembly, so the leads are soldered into your existing harness and insulated with heat shrink. Nothing on the machine needs to be drilled, cut or re-routed.
What is included?
You receive the pick-up pulser coil itself. The stator plate, flywheel, cover gasket, solder and heat shrink are not supplied, as this is a repair part for the stator already fitted to your machine.
How do I know my pulser coil has failed?
The engine turns over strongly but produces no spark at all, or it fires erratically and cuts out once warm. Before condemning the CDI, check the pulser coil for an open circuit across its two leads and for continuity between either lead and the stator core, and inspect where the lead passes the stator plate for chafing.
I fitted it and the spark is missing or erratic - what should I check?
Two things. First, switch the two wires over at the plug: the coil can be connected either way round and the polarity matters to the CDI. Second, check the air gap between the coil and the flywheel reluctor, which must be at least 0.010 mm.
