A brand new pick-up pulsar coil, supplied so that you can repair your existing stator rather than buy a complete assembly. The pulsar coil is the ignition trigger: as the flywheel turns, a raised reluctor sweeps past the coil and induces a small pulse, and the CDI or ECU reads the timing of that pulse to decide precisely when to fire the plug. Lose the pulse and the engine will crank strongly but never fire, however healthy the coil, plug and battery may be.
This is one of the most widely used pulsar coils across ATV, personal watercraft and scooter applications, which is why it supersedes more than forty interchange numbers across Arctic Cat, Can-Am, Kawasaki, Yamaha and Suzuki machines built between 1992 and 2026. It is a two-wire, two-terminal coil reading 500 ohms between the red and white wires, measuring 19 mm long by 19 mm wide by 23 mm high with 35 mm bracket centres and an 800 mm lead. Will it fit without modification?
On the applications covered by the cross reference list, yes. The 35 mm bracket centres put it in the original position and the 800 mm lead reaches the original connector. What is included?
You receive the pick-up pulsar coil with its 800 mm lead. The stator plate, flywheel and cover gasket are not supplied, as this is a repair part for the stator already on your machine.
How do I know my pulsar coil has failed?
The engine cranks strongly but never fires, or it starts from cold and cuts out once everything warms through. Disconnect the plug and measure between the red and white wires: a healthy coil reads about 500 ohms, within 20 per cent either way. An open circuit, or continuity from either wire to the stator core, points at the coil rather than the CDI.
