This is a brand new aftermarket stator built as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to Ski-Doo Grand Touring 600, 700 and 800 snowmobiles, including the SE and Sport versions, built between 1997 and 2002. It is plug-and-play and a direct fit, so the factory mounting points, the wiring route and the connectors are all retained and no modification is required.
The stator generates the alternating current that the regulator rectifier turns into the DC that charges the battery and runs the lights, gauges and accessories. This is a five-wire unit with two plugs and five pins, wound with the highest grade copper on the highest grade lamination material and rated to withstand 200 degrees Celsius. Heat is what eventually destroys an original stator, so that rating is the specification that matters most. The connector is included.

Does this stator need any modification to fit?
No. It is a direct replacement for the original unit, plug-and-play, using the standard mounting points and the factory wiring route. The wire run to the plug is 425 mm, the same as the original.
What is included in the box?
The stator with its connector. No other parts are required for a standard replacement.
How do I tell whether my old stator has failed?
Check the windings with a multimeter. Between each yellow wire you should read 0.5 ohms plus or minus 20 percent, green to each yellow 0.5 ohms plus or minus 20 percent, and black to ground 0.1 ohms plus or minus 20 percent. An open circuit or a reading well outside those figures means the winding has gone. A flat battery, dim headlights or a machine that will not restart once warm are the usual symptoms.
How do I confirm this is the right stator for my sled?
Read the part number off your original unit and check it against the cross reference table above. This stator replaces Ski-Doo 420888230, 410923200, 410922941, 410922907 and 410920900.
