This is a complete brand new stator and gasket kit for the Honda TRX 300 EX family of sport quads. It is a direct replacement for the original unit and installs plug-and-play, so the standard loom and stator cover are used exactly as they are. Because the stator cover has to come off to do the job, the correct cover gasket is supplied in the kit - there is no need to reuse a torn original gasket or to source one separately, and the cover can be resealed properly first time.
The stator is built with the highest grade lamination materials and copper windings rated to resist 200 degrees Celsius. On an air-cooled quad that spends its life at low speed under load, cooling airflow is limited and the charging coils run hot, which is why heat rating rather than raw output is the meaningful measure of a replacement stator. Every unit is tested before it is shipped.
The kit is comprehensive: alongside the stator and gasket it includes the connector, the rubber grommet and a tube of dielectric grease for the connector. Packing the connector with dielectric grease on reassembly keeps water and mud out of the pins, which is exactly where charging faults on a quad tend to start. Six wires exit the stator into three plugs with seven pins in total, and the yellow charging legs read approximately 0.4 ohms to one another for testing.

How do I confirm the old stator has failed?

Why is a gasket supplied with the stator?
The stator is mounted inside the left-hand engine cover, so the cover must be removed to change it and the cover gasket is disturbed in the process. Supplying the matching gasket, OEM reference 11395-HM3-670, means the cover can be resealed correctly during the same job.
