This is a brand new aftermarket stator for the Triumph 955 range, covering the Speed Triple, Sprint RS, Sprint ST and Tiger built between 1997 and 2006. It is a direct replacement to your original unit and is plug-and-play, a direct fit and easy to install. The stator generates the charging current that keeps the battery topped up and runs the lights and electronics, so when a winding fails or shorts to the case the bike slowly drains its battery and eventually stops - often after a long ride when everything is hot.
The unit is built with a higher grade of electric components and the highest grade copper windings, rated to withstand 200 degrees Celsius. All products shipped are tested. Importantly, the opposite connector - the one on the main harness side - is supplied with this stator. Those connectors are often melted, corroded or defective on these bikes and are a major cause of repetitive electrical issues, so replacing both halves at the same time removes the most common source of a repeat failure. The three-wire loom runs 115 mm from the stator to the grommet and a further 650 mm from the grommet to the plug.

How do I know the original stator has failed?
The classic pattern is a battery that will not stay charged, a warning light or low voltage at the battery with the engine running, dimming lights and eventually a bike that will not restart. Measure resistance black to black across the three phases: this stator reads 0.4 ohms plus or minus 20 percent, and any phase reading open circuit or shorted to the casing means the stator is finished.
Why is a second connector supplied?
On these Triumphs the harness-side connector is frequently melted, corroded or defective and is a major cause of repetitive electrical issues. Fitting a new stator into a damaged connector often leads to the same fault returning, so the opposite connector is included to let you renew both halves of the joint at once.
