This is a brand new stator for the Yamaha Mountain Max, SX, Venture and V-Max snowmobiles with the 600 and 700 engines, built between 1997 and 2001. It is a direct replacement for the original unit: plug-and-play, a direct fit, and easy to install in the original position behind the flywheel.
The plate carries six wires on two plugs and includes the pickup pulsar coil, so the ignition trigger and the charging and source windings are all renewed in one part. The core is built from the highest grade of lamination material and the windings from the highest grade of copper, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius. Quality exceeds the original equipment specification. The connector and the rubber grommet are supplied with the unit.

Does fitting this stator require modification?
No. It is a plug-and-play direct fit in the original position, with the same six wires on two plugs as the unit it replaces.
What is included in the box?

How do I tell whether my old stator has failed?
Measure each circuit with a multimeter against the table above. The alternator winding reads about 0.04 ohms from yellow to white, the pickup about 225 ohms from white to white/red, source 1 about 124 ohms from black to brown/red and source 2 about 443 ohms from brown to black/red, all within 20 per cent. An open circuit on any of them, or continuity from a winding to the plate, means the stator has failed. No spark usually traces back to the pickup or a source winding, while dim lights and a flat battery point at the alternator winding.
Do I need to order the pickup pulsar coil separately?
No. The pickup pulsar coil is fitted to this stator plate, so the single part renews both the ignition trigger and the charging windings.
