A brand new RMSTATOR alternator stator for the Yamaha Road Star family, supplied as a direct replacement for the original charging unit. The connector comes pre-installed on the new harness; you re-install your original connector and grommet on the machine side, after which the stator is a plug-and-play fit.
It is built with the highest grade lamination materials and copper windings rated to 200 degrees Celsius, which is what a big air-cooled twin asks of a stator sitting behind the flywheel. A second connector for the main harness side is included as standard, because that plug is very often corroded or heat-damaged on these bikes and a poor connection there is a frequent cause of a stator failing again soon after replacement.

Does this stator need the bike modifying?
No. It is a direct replacement for the original unit. Re-install your original connector and grommet on the machine side and the stator is plug-and-play, with the 1000 mm harness reaching the standard route.
What is included in the box?
The stator assembly with its 1000 mm wire harness and pre-installed connector, plus a spare connector for the main harness side.
How do I tell whether the stator or the regulator has failed?
Start at the stator. Measured between each Black/Red wire, the windings should read 0.4 ohms +/-20%, and each wire should be open circuit to ground. If those readings are correct but the battery is still not charging, the fault is more likely to be in the regulator rectifier or the harness connector rather than the stator.
Why does a second connector come with it?
The main harness side plug on these models is often browned, corroded or partly melted by the time the stator fails. Fitting the supplied replacement connector at the same time removes the resistance that caused the heat in the first place.
