A brand new aftermarket generator stator for the Yamaha Virago 535 and the Virago 535 Special. It is a direct replacement for the original unit, restoring charging output on a bike that is flattening its battery, showing low or unstable voltage at the terminals, or has burnt windings after years of heat cycling.
The stator is wound with copper resistant to 200 degrees Celsius on the highest grade lamination materials, and fits plug-and-play with no modification. The connector and rubber grommet are included. Importantly, the opposite connector for the main harness side is also supplied, because on machines of this age that connector is very often melted, corroded or defective - and a poor connector there will destroy a new stator just as quickly as it destroyed the old one. All products shipped are tested.

Does this stator need modification to fit?
No. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit replacement for the original unit, using the standard single 3-pin plug and the factory grommet positions.
What is included?

How can I tell whether my old stator has failed?
Measure white to white across the three alternator wires with the connector unplugged. This replacement unit reads 0.7 ohms plus or minus 20%. An open circuit, a large imbalance between the three legs, or any continuity from a winding to the stator core means the old unit has failed.
Why is a second connector supplied?
The connector on the main harness side is very often melted, corroded or defective on these machines. Fitting the supplied opposite connector at the same time removes the high-resistance joint that commonly caused the original stator to overheat.
