This is a brand new replacement stator for the Yamaha YFM 350 Big Bear and YFM 350 Warrior of 1987 to 1989. It is a direct replacement for your original unit: the plate carries the same mounting pattern, the leads follow the same routing and the plugs meet the existing harness, so fitting is plug-and-play with no modification, no rewiring and no drilling.
This is a nine wire, four plug assembly, which makes it important to match it against the unit you are removing rather than against the model name alone. It is built on the highest grade lamination materials and wound with the highest grade copper windings, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius. The pick-up pulsar coil, the connector and the rubber grommet are all supplied. We also include the opposite connector, the main harness side half of the plug, because these are often melted, corroded or defective and are a major cause of repetitive electrical issues. All products shipped are tested.

Will this stator fit without modification?
Yes. It is a direct replacement for the original unit and fits in the same place, with the same wire routing and the same plugs. Nothing needs to be cut, drilled or re-wired. Because the early YFM 350 stators changed during production, please confirm the OEM part number on your original unit against the cross reference table before ordering.
What is included in the box?
The stator, the pick-up pulsar coil, the connector, the opposite connector for the main harness side, and the rubber grommet.
How can I tell that my old stator has failed?
Typical symptoms are a battery that goes flat in use, dim or flickering lights, an engine that only runs while the battery holds charge, or a complete loss of spark. With the engine off and the unit unplugged, the white alternator wires should read about 0.4 ohms between them, the pick-up should read about 221 ohms from red to blue and about 217 ohms from yellow to white, and the source coil about 315 ohms from brown to green. Readings well away from those figures, or continuity from a winding to the stator body, indicate a failed unit.
Why does this stator have nine wires and four plugs?
The 1987 to 1989 YFM 350 charging and ignition system carries the alternator output, the pick-up signal and the source coil on separate circuits, which is why the assembly leaves the engine with nine wires split across four plugs. Count the wires on your existing unit before ordering to make sure you are replacing like with like.
