Throttle Position Sensor TPS 26 mm
Polaris Sportsman 550 570, Ranger 570 800 and RZR 800 - 2009-2026
Brand new aftermarket throttle position sensor for the 26 mm Bosch type throttle body used across the Polaris Sportsman, Ranger and RZR range. The TPS reports the exact angle of the throttle plate back to the ECU, and the ECU uses that signal to set fuelling and ignition timing. When the sensor track wears or develops a flat spot, the signal jumps or drops out and the engine responds with hesitation, surging, poor idle or a fault code, even though the throttle body and cable are mechanically fine.
This unit is a direct replacement for the original sensor. It is plug-and-play and a direct fit, using the original three-terminal plug and the original 38 mm fixing hole spacing, so it mounts straight onto the throttle body with no modification. Every unit shipped is tested before dispatch. All item pictures are accurate; if in doubt, compare the sensor body, the centre bore and the plug against your original part before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to modify anything to fit it?
No. It is a direct, plug-and-play replacement for the original sensor, with the same 26 mm centre circle, the same 38 mm fixing hole spacing and the same three-terminal plug, so it mounts on the original throttle body using the original wiring.
What do I receive?
One brand new throttle position sensor, tested before dispatch, as shown in the photographs. Re-use the original screws and seal from the sensor you are removing.
How do I tell whether my TPS has failed?
Common signs are a hesitation or flat spot at a particular throttle opening, surging at steady throttle, an unstable or hunting idle, poor fuelling when the engine is warm, or a stored throttle position fault code. Sweeping the throttle slowly while watching the sensor output will often show a dead spot or a sudden jump where the resistive track has worn.
Does the sensor need setting up after fitting?
The sensor mounts in the original position via its fixing holes, so its physical alignment is set by the throttle body itself. Follow the manufacturer procedure for your model to reset or relearn the throttle position after replacing the sensor.
