A brand new stator supplied as a direct replacement for the original unit on the Yamaha Mountain Max 600 and Venture 600 built between 1997 and 1999. It is plug-and-play and a direct fit: the mounting pattern and the factory plugs match the original, so the swap is a straight exchange with no cutting, splicing or adapters.
Construction uses the highest grade lamination materials with highest grade copper windings rated to 200 degrees Celsius, so charging output stays consistent when the engine and the belly pan are hot. How do I confirm the old stator is the problem?
A flat battery after a full day's running, headlights that dim or surge with engine speed, and weak or intermittent spark all point at the stator. Test the old unit with a multimeter and compare against the table above: 0.4 ohms yellow to yellow/black, 210 ohms across the pick-up, 250 ohms on the source circuit and 0.2 ohms white to white/black, each within 20%. An open circuit, a short to the laminations, or a reading well outside those bands confirms it.
Is the pick-up coil included or do I move mine across?
It is included and already fitted, with 70 mm of wire from the coil to the grommet, so there is no need to transfer the pick-up from your original stator.
