This is a brand new generator stator built as a direct replacement for the original charging and ignition unit fitted to the Yamaha YFM 125 Grizzly from 2004 through 2013. The stator lives behind the flywheel and is the source of every amp the machine uses. Its alternator windings feed the regulator rectifier and keep the battery topped up, while the pickup pulsar coil mounted on the same plate reads the flywheel and tells the CDI when to fire. A failure in either half shows up quickly - a flat battery on the charging side, or a no-spark, will-not-start condition on the ignition side.
The assembly is plug-and-play and a direct fit: five wires into two plugs, matching the factory connectors, wire lengths and mounting pattern, so no cutting, splicing or modification is required. It uses the highest grade lamination materials and the highest grade copper windings, rated to withstand 200 degrees C - important on a small air-cooled engine where the stator sits close to a hot crankcase. How do I know my old stator has failed?

Test with a multimeter: about 0.4 ohms +/- 20% White to White across the alternator windings, and about 290 ohms +/- 20% White to Pink across the pickup. An infinite reading means an open winding, and continuity to the stator body means it has shorted to earth.
Do I need to move the pickup coil over from my old stator?
No. The pickup pulsar coil is supplied with the assembly, with 40 mm of lead from the coil to the grommet, so the complete plate goes on as one piece.
